Dr. Asma Irshad obtained degree of B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology from Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore M.Sc in Biochemistry from Department of Biochemistry, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, M.Phil in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore, Lahore and PhD in Biochemistry from Department of Biochemistry, University of Agriculture Faisalabad. She joined Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in 2009 and has served various well reputed organization including: Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology, Mayo Hospital/KEMU, CEMB, and UMT till June 2022. She has joined School of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of the Punjab as Assistant Professor of Biochemistry in June 2022. She is HEC approved PhD supervisor. She has published 35 articles in IF Journals and 22 in conference proceedings and one book chapter till June 2022. She has supervised 20 research scholars (1 PhD, 14 MS, 1 M.phil and 4 BS). She has completed one funded project and working on many funded and unfunded projects. Her current research interest includes: Molecular Nanotechnology: development of nanoformulations for the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases, nanoimmunoassays, Cancer Genetics:  Determination of molecular biomarkers for breast cancer patients in Pakistan for early diagnosis and prognosis, Medicinal Plants: Antimicrobial, Biofilm, Phytochemistry, Toxicological, Antioxidant, DNA damage assay, Biochemical, Nutritional and Neutraceutical analysis, Mutagenicity and Carcinogenicity potential analysis.
