Dr. Numan Javed earned his PhD from Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Shanghai Institute of Biological Sciences (SIBS), China in the field of Microbiology after availing the fully funded faculty development scholarship of University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. Before this, he did M.Phil Immunology from the University Of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, Pakistan. His area of research interest is the study of novel inflammatory processes during host bacterial interaction. During his PhD work, he found the novel mechanism of cross reactivity of Staphlococcus aureus with murine cytokines assays which provided a big breakthrough for S. aueus related immune studies. Moreover, he has expertise in the exploration of various novel and unique mechanisms for host cell death during S. aureus infections. He also remained the active scientist of Sino-French collaborative research project on host immune-modulation during S. aureus and Lesihmenia amazonensis co-infection under the flagship of Institut Pasteur International Network (IPIN) between Institut Pasteur of Shanghai and the Institut Pasteur of Paris. He has the diverse experience of teaching and research at various public and private sector universities of Pakistan. He is serving at the department of Microbiology & Molecular Gentics (MMG), University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan since 2009. |
