Rational-Emotive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy was created by psychologist, Dr. Albert Ellis, in 1955 in New York City (http://albertellis.org/about-albert-ellis-phd/). It is the first Cognitive Behavioural form of therapy, which is effective psychotherapy in dealing with a wide variety of cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
RECBT focuses on solutions and uses an evidence based action oriented approach to help people overcome and manage a wide variety of cognitive, emotive and behavioural disturbances.
The overall goal is to enhance life satisfaction and to remarkably reduce stress in the client’s life by actively teaching a new effective philosophy of life with the help of scientifically proven therapeutic techniques and strategies.
Rational Emotive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can be successfully applied to all kinds of emotional and psychological problems with clients from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
Evidence has mounted that RECBT can be effectively used to help treat a wide range of issues, from sleeping difficulties or relationship problems, to drug and alcohol abuse, to major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and many others. A model of Psychotherapy developed by Dr. Akhter Ahsen based on triple code model of ISM (I= Image, S= Somatic Response, M= Meaning). The model offers a quick management of wide range of psychiatric & psychosomatic disorders. Operationally, the eidetic image is characterized as a subjective phenomenon which possesses an external or perceptual as well as a strongly sensory character, is non-illusionary and clear.

This orientation workshop aims at giving brief philosophical background and the methods of the therapy. The presentation will give an introduction of ISM model, Eidetic Parents Test (EPT) and Age Projection Test (APT). The presentation may include case reports and live demonstration of technique. It is going to be a 3 hour long, an experiential workshop in which the focus would be to bring into awareness the negative emotions and accept those emotions. The basic premise is that once we come into contact with the true self, many of our hesitations and barriers fade away. The objectives of this workshop will be, Training in Gestalt and self-acceptance techniques, helping participants to be aware of their selves, to train them so that they can use these techniques with their clients for better outcomes.
