Dr. Bushra Nisar Khan

Dr. Bushra Nisar Khan is teaching Zoology at Centre for Undergraduate Studies since December, 2010. Before joining Punjab University she was working at Lahore Zoological Gardens as Education Officer. Her field of expertise is biodiversity conservation and natural resources management. At Lahore Zoo she worked for Education & Awareness, Animal Habitat Designing, Animal Collection Plan and Media Correspondence. She got training of Zoo management from Asian Institution of Technology, Thailand. She remained member of Pakistan Biological Society, Pakistan Fisheries Society, Member of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAZARC), Regional & National Representative for Education – SAZARC, IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) and International Zoo Educators Switzerland. At Punjab University she taught the students animal diversity, biochemistry, ecology and environmental biology. She is student advisor and tour in-charge at Centre for Undergraduate Studies and member of Dengue control and security committee. She co-supervised research students of BS.Hons and M.Sc. Zoology from University of Veterinary & Animal Science, Lahore Collage for Women University, Kinnaird Collage for Women and Lahore Garrison University. She published 13 research papers in different impact factor journals. She got funding for five research projects of biodiversity conservation and management from Punjab University Research Grant. She also participated and presented her research papers in national and international conferences. She visited Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and America for training and paper presentations.
