Dr. Hafiz Abdul Mannan is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Polymer and Textile Engineering (IPTE), University of the Punjab since September 2020. He has worked as an Assistant Professor (IPFP Fellow) at Institute of Energy and Environmental Engineering (IEEE), University of the Punjab from July 2020 to September 2020. Prior to his joining at University of the Punjab, he has worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Environmental Engineering Laboratory, Institute of Self-Sustainable Building (ISB), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. Dr. Mannan received his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (ICET), University of the Punjab, Pakistan in 2006. Later, he obtained his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia in 2014 and 2018, respectively.
Dr. Mannan has more than ten (10) years of teaching and research experience in Malaysia and Pakistan. He has been teaching postgraduate level courses in M.Phil. Polymer Technology Program at the Institute of Polymer and Textile Engineering. Previously, he has worked as a Teaching Assistant during his tenure at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and participated in the teaching of undergraduate courses and laboratory demonstrations. He has actively participated in various funded research projects as a Graduate Research Assistant at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS from 2012 to 2018. Currently, he is working as a Principal Investigator on HEC funded research project titled “Development of Ionic Liquid Embedded Polymeric Membranes for Biogas Upgradation”. He has research expertise in gas separation membranes, polymer nanocomposites, and advanced materials for CO2 capture. He has authored/co-authored more than forty journal articles, conference proceedings, and book chapters in reputed journals and periodicals. Furthermore, he has presented his research work at various national and international conferences and exhibitions and received recognition in the form of awards, medals, and appreciations.
Dr. Mannan has been serving as an invited reviewer for a few reputed international journals including Chemical Engineering & Technology, Chemical Engineering Communication, Separation and Purification Reviews, Fibers and Polymers, Polymer Bulletin and Journal of Applied Polymer Science etc. He has been registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) as a registered engineer since 2006.
