Dr. Shamaila Dodhy
Shamaila Dodhy holds a PhD in English Literature from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on Trauma Studies, Literature of Trauma, Attachment Trauma Theory, African-American Literature and African Literature. She is currently working as Assistant Professor, Department of English Language and Literature, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. Dodhy's teaching and research specializations are in narratives of exile and migration from South Asia. Currently she is doing research on intersectionality and colorism, a question further problematized by the political discourse of identity. She has published in a range of national and international journals: Pertanika Journal of Social Science & Humanities; Journal of Academia; Pakistan Journal of Women’s Studies: Alam-e-Niswan; Journal of Language and Communication. Besides teaching and research, she has held several administrative posts also. She was Member of Board of Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan from 2011-2015 and Coordinator of BS (Hons.) Program till 2015.
