MS Health Psychology Program

MS emphasizes on the theoretical as well as the practical application of psychological principles in the field of HealthPsychology. The MSsyllabi comprises of core courses, specialized courses, placements in different health settings,and research thesis. The four semesters comprised of 28 credit hours course work and 6 credit hours research thesis. Students are provided with orientation of: the resources, facilities, rules and regulations, and code of conduct before the commencement of classes. It is mandatory for every student to attend orientation program and students are provided with copies of rules and regulations in the orientation program.

Prerequisites for Admission
The admission criteria will be strictly in accordance to the rules set by the HEC Pakistan in addition to an Institutional Entry/Admission test. Application form must be complete in all respects particularly, with reference to detailed marks in the previous examination, equivalence certificate from the University (if required), conversion of marks (if required) and migration certificate (if required). For MSthe required qualification is BS – 4 years in Applied Psychology/ Psychology/ Clinical Psychology/ Behavioural Sciences/ M.Sc in Psychology/ M. Sc in Applied Psychology. GRE general is a prerequisite for admission in MS. Applicant is required to submit a research proposal at the time of admission and guideline for proposal preparation are given in the prospectus (see page 47) and will also be provided with admission form. Interview is mainly based on the research synopsis. Merit is calculated on academic merit, written entry test marks, interview, professional experience and research publications.

*Placement Settings: General Medical Conditions, Terminal Illnesses, Chronic Conditions, Solid Organ Transplantation & Drug Addiction Centers, each placement of 160 hours per semester.

** Credit Hours carried over from Semester III to Semester IV, therefore subtracted from total credit hours.
