Dr. Asma Awan is currently working as Assistant Professor in School of Economics, University of the Punjab, Lahore. She has done her Bachelor of Science from Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore. Later on, she pursued her M.A Economics from University of the Punjab. She earned her M.Phil. Economics from the same University and stood second on merit. She has the honor of being selected for HEC Indigenous Scholarship for doctorate level studies and successfully completed her Ph.D. in August 2019. Her research is mainly focused on output volatility with regard to its potential determinants including financial development, financial globalization and institutional quality. She has a rich teaching and research experience spanning over a period of 10 years at graduate and post-graduate level. Her teaching career started in 2011. Prior to joining University of the Punjab in 2018, she served Lahore Garrison University as Lecturer and also actively participated in various committees for uplifting the University. She is member of Board of Studies (BOS) in Economics, Department of Economics and Board of Faculty (BOF) of Business, Economics and Administrative Sciences (BEAS), University of the Punjab. She contributed as external member/subject specialist of Board of Studies in Economics, Department of Economics and Quantitative Methods, UMT, Lahore in 2023. She is an active reviewer of various national research journals. She has worked as Student Advisor School of Economics, University of the Punjab from 2018 to 2023. She is program coordinator of BS Economics (Morning & Self-Supporting) from November, 2022. On her credit, she has over 20 research publications in National and International HEC recognized journals. She has actively participated in various national conferences and also attended various workshops/trainings/seminars. She is highly skilled in using quantitative softwares including E-views, STATA and R-Studio. Her teaching and research interests encompass Macro Economics, Applied Econometrics, Development Economics, Monetary Economics, Research Methods and Statistical Economics.
