Dr. Fauzia Saleem Alvi holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of the Punjab. She started her career in 2000 as a lecturer in the Department of Sociology. She has been an active part of the process of up-gradation of department of Sociology to the Institute of Social & Cultural Studies. In May 2023 she was appointed as Associate Professor at the Department of Gender Studies. Her PhD was in globalization and transition of family Institution and the transition of youth. She has supervised numerous theses in this area at MPhil, MSc and BS(Hon) level. Her other research interests are social transformation, globalization and youth development, gender mainstreaming and development, and Sociology of Family. She has a special passion towards teaching Sociological theory and is committed towards developing an understanding and appreciation for indigenous realities in different theoretical paradigms. Currently she is engaged in teaching Qualitative Research to PhD, MPhil and Post-graduate students |
