Rana Eijaz Ahmad is a TTS professor of political science in the Department of Political Science, University of the Punjab, with a Ph.D. in international relations, specializing in international political economy and sharing skills with graduate and undergraduate students. He is the Chairman of the Department of Political Science. There are two books on political economy attributed to him. One measures the impact of globalization on Pakistan. The first Edition was published in 2004, and the second edition, with an updated version, is in the process of publication. His latest book, published in Milan, Italy, examines the effects of globalization on China and India in the twenty-first century, co-authored by Mahnoor Mansoor. Professor Ahmad has more than 60 published research papers. An Indian Professor, Aswathi, copied verbatim from Professor Ahmad’s research paper titled "War against Terrorism or War for Terrorism." In the history of Punjab University, it is the only instance where an Indian professor verbatim copied a professor from Punjab University’s entire research paper. Ahmad brings some novel ideas to the discipline at the national and international levels. For Instance, he introduced a concept of the Fifth Political Theory. Professor Ahmad also introduced the notion of system capabilities as a measure of a country's socio-political and economic development, a leadership utilizes, rather than a form of government. He also coined a word for a mixed economy, ‘liberacantilism’ as a mixture of liberalism and mercantilism. Professor Ahmad has completed 12 research projects funded by the University of the Punjab, Lahore, and has published them. Professor Ahmad is an internationally acclaimed professor. Oslo University College, Norway, borrowed two chapters, 1 and 3 (60 pages) of Professor Ahmad's book, Globalization and Its Impact on Pakistan, for the syllabus of Journalism and Communication in the Era of Globalization and Transformation. Professor Ahmad also delivered lectures at the State University of New York campuses. One is at the University at Buffalo, Cora P. Maloney College. The Second lecture was at Buffalo State College, U.S.A. The third lecture was at the University of West Virginia, U.S.A. He is a teacher, author, anchor, TV analyst, columnist, certified film director, and scriptwriter. He supervised many theses at the M.A., MPhil, and PhD levels. Professor Ahmad has represented Pakistan on more than 20 occasions in Australia, China, Iran, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the U.S.A. He edits a journal of Politics and International Studies published at the University of Punjab, Lahore. He also translated a novel, Samarkand, from English to Urdu. He served as the Host Director at the Confucius Institute, Punjab University, Lahore, from 2017 to 2023.
