Dr. Saira Ramzan
Dr. Saira Ramzan is a distinguished academician presently serving as Assistant Professor at the Department of Archaeology, University of the Punjab. Prior to her current appointment, Dr. Saira held positions as Lecturer at Government College University, Lahore, and Research Officer at the Army Museum, Lahore. Her academic excellence is underscored by her achievements, including securing the top position and Gold Medal in her Master's program in Archaeology from the University of the Punjab.
Dr. Saira's academic background is marked by a strong foundation in Archaeology, History, and related disciplines. She holds a Master's degree in Archaeology and History from the University of the Punjab, an M.Phil. in Archaeology from the University of Peshawar, and a Ph.D. from Hazara University, Mansehra. Her research expertise lies in Buddhist Art, with a particular focus on Narrative Reliefs from Gandhara.
As an educator, Dr. Saira has provided teaching services to students enrolled in M.Phil., BS, and Master's programs across various departments at the University of the Punjab. Her participation in national and international conferences has been marked by presentations on diverse topics, reflecting her broad research interests.
Dr. Saira's areas of academic interest encompass Buddhist and Gandhara Art and Architecture, Islamic Art and Architecture, Art History, Ancient World Civilizations, Museum Studies, Conservation, and Ancient History. Her research has been disseminated through publications in various national and international journals.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Saira has made significant administrative contributions, including her elected membership to the Punjab University Syndicate (2021-2024), membership in the Finance & Planning Committee, and involvement in various departmental and university-level committees.
