Professor Dr. Shamaila Dodhy is the Director of Institute of English Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Dr. Dodhy’s career highlights include her tenure as the former Chair of the Department of English Language and Literature, which evolved under her leadership into the Institute of English Studies in 2021. Her academic journey is marked by notable achievements, including receiving a Certificate of Merit for her PhD with distinction from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2018. Additionally, she was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for successfully graduating on time from the same institution. Her research focuses on Trauma Studies, Literature of Trauma and Race Studies. Her research specializations are in narratives of Post-Democracy and corporate dominance which reflect her commitment to advance the field through innovative methodologies. Her contributions to academia extend beyond research, as she actively promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and inclusivity within literature studies. This is evidenced by her initiatives to integrate contemporary scholars into the curriculum of BS (English) and PhD (English) programs, thus enriching the educational experience for students under her guidance. |
