Introduction:
Dr. Nosheen Fatima Warraich serves as Professor at the Institute of Information Management, University of the Punjab (PU), Lahore, Pakistan, an institution recognized as the top-ranked in the country according to the QS Subject Rankings. In addition, she holds a visiting professorship at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2024. As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, she conducted research at the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY), in 2015-2016. Dr. Warraich currently serves as the Editor of the
Pakistan Journal of Information Management & Libraries, which is indexed in SCOPUS, and as Associate Editor for
Heliyon (Impact Factor: 3.776). She is also a member of the Editorial Board of
Libri (Impact Factor: 1.0). Furthermore, she holds leadership roles in the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), currently serving as Chair of the Special Interest Group on International Information Issues (SIG-III) and as the Past Chair of SIG-InfoLearn for the 2024-2025 term. Dr. Warraich's professional achievements have been recognized with the ASIS&T New Leader Award (2017-2018) and the esteemed James M. Cretsos Leadership Award (2023). She is also the recipient of the Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) “Aspiring Leaders: Developing Female Leadership in Higher Education in Pakistan (2023)” award from Michigan State University and HEC sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.
She is a highly dedicated and passionate scholar in information management. She began her academic career as a lecturer in the Department of Information Management 2008. Dr. Warraich earned her PhD from the University of the Punjab (2005-2011), becoming the first PhD graduate of the department’s regular MPhil to PhD program. Her professional journey seamlessly integrates librarianship with academic instruction. She completed her undergraduate studies at Lahore College for Women University in 1999 and obtained her master’s degree from the Department of Library & Information Science, University of the Punjab, in 2001. With over 110 publications to her credit, including articles in impact factor journals, contributions to national and international HEC-recognized refereed journals, conference proceedings, books, and book chapters, Dr. Warraich has made significant contributions to the field. Dr. Warraich is a highly prolific author, and her extensive contributions to the field of information management are reflected in the significant number of citations her work has garnered, as demonstrated by her
Google Scholar profile. Additionally, she has supervised and continues to mentor numerous research theses at the master's, MPhil, and PhD levels.
Dr. Warraich frequently presents her research at prominent conferences within the field of information science, including ASIS&T, IFLA, ICoLIS, A-LIEP, and ICADL. Her scholarly work has been featured in a wide array of prestigious journals, including

She is a group leader of the research group “Information Technology: People & Information Organizations” The research group focuses on ICT's and AI impact on information users’ behaviour and the work of information organisations in a Semantic Web environment.
