Assistant Professor
Dr. Zeeshan Yousaf

Dr. Zeeshan Yousaf is a Pakistani Mathematician and HEC Approved Supervisor, specialized in Geometry, Mathematical Physics and Cosmology. He is among the top young researchers of Pakistan in the field of Mathematics and Basic Sciences. He has started his career by joining University of the Punjab, Lahore as a Lecturer in 2014. He did PhD in the field of Modified Gravitational Theories and Cosmology. Due to production of high quality research work, he has been considered as the top PhD student of Pakistan as he achieved 72.5 impact factor from just 22 scientific articles during his PhD research career. His scientific results are being published by various well-known scientific publishing companies like American Physical Society, Elsevier, IOP, NRC Research Press, Oxford University Press, Springer, World Scientific in USA, UK, Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Italy, China, Singapore etc. He has been regularly awarding with Research Incentives from University of the Punjab and Research Productivity Award from the “Pakistan Council of Science and Technology”, Islamabad. He is a reviewer of eight notable impact factor international journals and the associate editor of few  international journals. He is a permanent member of some well-known societies like, Pakistan Physical Society, Pakistan Mathematical Society, etc. He developed with his colleagues a very strong group of relativity named “The Group of Gravitation and Cosmology” (http://ggc.pu.edu.pk/) in his department. Dr. Zeeshan has participated and presented his research papers in 24 International and National conferences/seminars in his field. As per August 2018, he has published more than 55 research papers which are cited by more than 1300 times by national and international researchers. The cumulative impact factor of his research articles is 170.698, according to the 2017 Journal Citation Reports released by Thomson Reuters in 2018. The h-index of his research papers is 25 and i10-index is 40. He has been supervising 1 PhD student and has produced 2 MPhil scholars. He has been involved in organizing 2 national and 2 international conferences on Relativistic Astrophysics, Gravitation and Cosmology in University of the Punjab, Lahore-Pakistan.
Initially, he worked on exact solutions of the Einstein field equations, especially spherically symmetric solutions. He also analyzed the effects of the cosmological constant on such systems and thereby developed an interest in the cosmological constant and the dark energy problem. In recent years, he has been working on dynamical system techniques in the field of gravitation and cosmology.
