The mission of the Institute of Psychology is to uphold the commitment to academic excellence by indulging in psychological research, excellent teaching and unconditional community services, The passion is to accentuate collated efforts to discover, synthesize, and transmit knowledge.

Institute of Applied Psychology (IAP), University of the Punjab was established in 1962 as Department of Applied Psychology by Prof Dr. Ghulam Jillani (late). IAP has flaunted the galore prestige of University of the Punjab by serving as premier center of academia, research and community services and has maintained global recognition from past many decades. The Institute is led by Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique and is cherished as hub of productive activities to uplift the status of Psychology in Pakistan in wider domains of specializations such as Clinical and counseling psychology, Organizational psychology, Forensic Psychology, Positive Psychology, Developmental psychology, Sports psychology just to name a few. By dint of its acclaimed academic and research expertise, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan selected it for Up-gradation and strengthening and very soon the Institute expanded its’ horizon and degree programs diversified into BS (4 years), MSC, M.Phil, MS (Health Psy.) and PhD Program, calibrated in alignment to International Standards. Due to wider popularity of IAP, huge number of admission request are received, authenticating it as most preferred Institute for Psychology studies in Pakistan. A prolific database of accomplished professionals as IAP Alumni, and currently serving wider domains of services, establishes the contribution that IAP is rendering in students’ lives.

Prof. Dr. Rafia Hassan, Prof. Dr. Seemen Alam, Prof. Dr. Najma Najam, Prof. Dr. Ruhi Khalid, Prof. Dr. Hamid Sheikh, Dr Mian Aftab, Prof. Dr. Yasmin Farooqi, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar, Prof. Dr. Farah Malik, Prof. Dr. Firdaus-e-Bareen and Dr. Iram Fatima have been the Directors of the Institute of Applied Psychology. Currently, Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique is the Director of the Institute of Applied Psychology.

Located alongside the beautiful Lahore Canal, in the Quaid-e-Azam Campus of University of the Punjab, the Institute of Applied Psychology extends scenic view and immaculate sight to feast the eyes of eager learners of psychology.

    IAP Research and Publication Cell gives you the facility for using Psychological Measures Developed and Translated by Director Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique, faculty members and the students of our Institute. If any student and researcher wishes to use any scale for his/her research project/these, he/she should have to follow the formal permission process. The Lists of Developed and Translated scales/measures along with Permission Performa are given below:

    If you want to use the developed scale, you should have to download and fill the Permission Proforma and send it to us on email info.appsy@pu.edu.pk. Then permission to use the scale will be granted to you along with required scale with its psychometric properties.
    Instructions for Psychological Test (Translated)
    If you want to use the translated scale, first you have to take permission from original author(s) of the required scale as they have the copyrights. Further you have to take permission from us. For this, you have to download and fill the Permission Proforma and send it to us along with the copy of Permission letter/form/email from original author of scale, and then permission to use the scale will be granted to you and the required scale will be sent to you. Note that, you can get the psychometric properties of the required original scale from original author(s), or you may consult the theses present in IAP Library or the published articles for the psychometric properties of Urdu Version.
