Dr. Uzma Ahmad is a distinguished mathematician whose academic journey is marked by outstanding achievements. She received her M.Sc. and M.Phil. in Mathematics from University of the Punjab, securing First Position in her M.Sc. and Third Position in M.Phil. She subsequently received a PhD in Mathematics from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences. (FAST) through the esteemed Ph.D. Indigenous Scholarship awarded by the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan.
Commencing her academic journey as a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of the Punjab in 2008. Dr. Ahmad has since progressed to the position of a Tenured Associate Professor. Her expertise lies in the realms of algebraic graph theory, molecular graph theory, and fuzzy graph theory, with a prolific record of over 72 research articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. Some of her papers have been published in highly ranked journals. Dr. Ahmad is the main author on most of her publications.
Her dedication to teaching excellence earned her the prestigious departmental Best Teacher Award from the Department of Mathematics at the University of the Punjab in 2014 reflecting her dedication to fostering learning and innovation. Actively engaged in academic discourse, she has presented her research findings at more than 21 international and national conferences within her field and has been an invited and keynote speaker at several prestigious academic forums. She has shared her insights and findings at notable institutions, including Florida Atlantic University (USA), University of Warwick (UK), Royal Holloway, University of London (UK), and Paderborn University (Germany). Dr. Ahmed is an esteemed research supervisor and has successfully supervised Six PhD and 28 M.Phil students. Currently, she is supervising more Five PhD and Four M.Phil scholars.
In addition to her research and teaching, she serves as a reviewer for international journals and has coordinated several seminar series within the Department of Mathematics at the University of the Punjab. Beyond her academic pursuits, Dr. Ahmad contributes actively to her department’s administration. She serves as a member of several committees, including the Curriculum Committee, Doctoral Program Committee, Tenure Review Committee, Board of Studies, and Examination and Scholarship Committees. Her roles as a Student Advisor and Assistant Coordinator for the M.Phil./Ph.D. program further highlight her leadership and dedication to fostering a vibrant academic environment. Her multifaceted contributions underscore her commitment to advancing mathematical knowledge and fostering academic growth. |
