Dr. Aziz Ullah Awan is a distinguished academic with a strong background in Applied Mathematics. He completed his MPhil in Mathematics from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. In April 2005, he began his academic career as a lecturer in Mathematics at Govt College Noor Pur Thal, after being selected through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC). In May 2006, he was appointed as a lecturer at the University of the Punjab, Lahore. Dr. Awan earned his PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2012 from the Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences, GC University Lahore. His doctoral research focused on Fluid Mechanics, and he completed his studies under the guidance of Professor Constantin Fetecau.
In March 2013, Dr. Awan was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the University of the Punjab, where he made significant contributions to both research and teaching. In August 2020, he was promoted to the position of Tenured Associate Professor. His research portfolio includes over 135 publications in prestigious international journals, and he has served as a reviewer for more than 40 journals. Dr. Awan has actively participated in several national and international conferences, where he has shared his insights through presentations. Throughout his career, Dr. Awan has supervised 5 PhD and 22 MPhil students, and he currently mentors 2 PhD and 4 MPhil students. His expertise in applied mathematics has earned him recognition in the global academic community. In 2022, 2023, and 2024, Stanford University recognized him as one of the top 2% of scientists worldwide, a testament to his exceptional contributions to the field. |
