Dr. Umar Farooq earned his M.Sc. Chemistry with distinction from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur in 2003. He won HEC Indigenous Fellowship and obtained his PhD from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. His area of specialization is Analytical/Environmental Chemistry. Dr. Farooq is working as Professor (Tenured) in the School of Chemistry, University of the Punjab. He has above 80 publications in International Impact Factor Journals, including a number of review articles with a cumulative impact factor increasing 270. He has been awarded Research Productivity Award by Pakistan Council of Science and Technology to honor his contribution in Science and Development. His research interests include development of cost-effective analytical methods, development of environmentally friendly modified biosorbents, computational studies of catalysis and energy efficient devices.
