Dr. Mohsin Ali Raza has more than 20 years of research and teaching experience in the field of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. He earned his B.Sc. (Engg.) degree in the field of Metallurgy and Materials Science from University of the Punjab, Lahore in 2000. In 2001, he joined Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering (formerly Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering) of University of the Punjab as a lecturer. He is currently working as Professor at the same Institute. Dr. Raza won HEC scholarship for MSc studies in 2005. He earned MSc (Engg.) degree from Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, Stockholm, Sweden, in 2007. In 2008, Dr. Raza won a prestigious Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate award (jointly sponsored by EPSRC and Morgan Advanced Materials, UK) for PhD studies at University of Leeds, UK. He received his PhD degree in the field of Materials Engineering from University of Leeds, UK, in 2012. After completion of his PhD, he established his own research group at Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, University of the Punjab, which is actively researching on carbon nanomaterials, graphene, polymer composites, ceramics materials and energy materials. Dr. Raza has worked on several industrial research projects at University of Punjab and also supervised many MPhil, MSc. and B.Sc (Engg.) research thesis. He is currently supervising 5 PhD students. In 2014, he won a grant of Rupees 17 million from HEC to carry out research on a project “Synthesis of graphene nanoplatelets and development of graphene-nanoplatelets-based composites for electronic packaging and functional applications”, which he successfully completed. Dr. Raza played a key role in establishment of state-of-the-art Materials Characterization laboratories at IMME. He also authored more than 40 research articles, which were published in peer-reviewed impact factor journals, and presented papers in more than 20 international conferences. His cumulative impact factor is ca. 140. He is actively involved in teaching B.Sc. (Engg.), MSc (Engg.) and PhD (Engg.) courses at Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, University of the Punjab, Lahore. Currently, he is also performing his duties as Director, Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. |
