Dr. Maliha Uroos obtained her M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) in 2003 from Institute of Chemistry, University of the Punjab. She completed her PhD in synthetic organic chemistry in 2012 from The University of Nottingham under HEC Faculty Development Program. She was awarded EPSRC post doctoral fellowship (2012-2013) at The University of Nottingham, UK. She was appointed lecturer at University of the Punjab in 2007 and currently working as an Assistant Professor at Institute of Chemistry, University of the Punjab. She has received the following awards; President Talent Forming Scholarship (2000), Roll of Honour in B.Sc (2001), PhD scholarship (2008), Leslie Crombie Prize UK for best PhD research presentation (2011), EPSRC fellowship (2012). She has several publications in leading international journals including a patent review and presented her work at various national and international conferences. Her main focus is synthetic organic chemistry and research interests include sustainable energy production, synthesis of biologically active molecules for applications in pharmaceutics and as agrochemicals via environmentally benign green chemistry protocols, ionic liquids and nanochemistry. |
