Mr. Khurshid Alam passed M.A. (English) from Govt. Islamia College, Civil Lines, Lahore. Then, in 1997, he joined Department of English Language and Literature in 1997 for graduate studies. He completed M.Phil (English Literature) in 2000. From 1997-2005, he served in the Higher Education Department of Punjab as a Lecturer. In April 2005, he joined Department of English, University of the Punjab. He was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor in December 2013.
In 2018, he completed his doctoral dissertation titled “The Politics of Identity: A Critical Study of Pakistani Fiction in English”. During his doctoral studies, he also passed M.A. (Philosophy) with distinction. He has keen interest in the study of scriptures especially the Holy Quran. During his doctoral research, he had an extensive survey of postcolonial Urdu novel and published articles on Qurratulain Hyder and Altaf Hussein Hali. Thus South Asian literary subjectivities, postcolonial knowledge production, Modern Drama and Critical Theory remain core areas of his research interests. |
