Prof. Dr. Tajamal Hussain

Prof. Dr. Tajamal Hussain is a Professor of Chemistry at the School of Chemistry, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Graz University of Technology, Austria and subsequently joined Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, in 2010 before moving to the University of the Punjab in 2011.
Prof. Hussain’s research focuses on the development of functional polymer composite materials for applications in energy storage, sensing, and environmental remediation. His research combines synthetic materials chemistry with advanced characterization techniques to explore structure–property–performance relationships in next-generation materials.
Over his career, Prof. Hussain has published extensively in reputable international journals and presented his work at numerous international conferences held worldwide. He received the Early Career Chemist Award from the Pacific Basin Societies of Chemistry (PACIFICHEM) in Honolulu, USA (2015), and was awarded the Ernst Mach Follow-up Grant (2023) for a research stay at the Technical University of Vienna, Austria.
In addition to his research, Prof. Hussain has made significant contributions to teaching and mentoring, guiding undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in diverse areas of materials and polymer chemistry. He is also actively engaged in promoting collaborative research and advancing the role of chemistry in sustainable energy and environmental applications.
