Dr. Uzma Hira

Dr. Uzma Hira is an Assistant Professor at the School of Chemistry, University of the Punjab, Lahore. She earned her PhD in Chemistry from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), specializing in inorganic materials synthesis, thermoelectric oxides, magnetic materials, and advanced characterization techniques. She completed her M.Phil in Physical Chemistry from the National Centre of Excellence in Physical Chemistry (NCEPC) with distinction.
Her research focuses on high-entropy oxides, perovskite materials, and energy storage technologies, supported by multiple national and international grants. She has undertaken research visits and fellowships at Paris-Saclay University, the Technical University of Denmark, and Alba Synchrotron, and was recognized as a TechWomen 2024 awardee. She also got a chance to work in Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (Molecular Foundry) under the supervision of Dr. Virginia Altoe.
Dr. Hira has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters, and is an HEC-approved Ph.D. supervisor. She has guided numerous postgraduate students and actively contributes to capacity building in materials chemistry and sustainable energy research.
