Dr. Muhammad Imran is working as Professor of Chemistry (Inorganic Chemistry) at School of Chemistry, University of the Punjab Lahore. He has 21 years (regular/full time) teaching and research experience at University level. He acquired his PhD degree from Germany under the prestigious DAAD fellowship. Besides formal education in chemistry, Dr. Imran has also acquired professional education (Bachelor, LLB and Master, LLM) in the discipline of law. Dr. Imran has worked as Director, Centre for Inorganic Chemistry, School of Chemistry, University of the Punjab Lahore during the years (2021-2024). He has more than 160 publications in journals of international repute. In addition to University funding, he has also won research projects from external funding agencies like National research program for Universities by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (NRPU-HEC), Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and DAAD Germany. He was awarded National Youth Award (Science & Technology) by Government of Pakistan, Star Laureate Award and Young Scholar Award for participation in 59th Nobel Laureate meeting 2009 in Lindau. His area of research is Inorganic structural & material chemistry with focus on metal complexes, MOFs and inorganic materials (composites, perovskites, spinels and other mixed metal oxides). His group is particularly focusing on the chemistry of Bismuth for possible applications in sectors of energy, luminescence (LEDs) and environmental remediation. |
