Introduction
Dr. Humaira Asad is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Business Administration, University of the Punjab, Pakistan, with over 20 years of teaching and research experience in Pakistan and the UK. Her academic expertise lies in Behavioral Economics, Econometrics, Development Economics, and Islamic Finance. Dr. Asad holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Exeter, UK; her PhD thesis focused on financial development, inequality, and poverty. She also earned an M.Phil. in Economics from GC University, Lahore, and a Master’s in Economics from the University of the Punjab.
Throughout her career, Dr. Asad has made significant contributions to academia as a researcher, and educator. She has authored many research papers, presented her work at several international conferences and earned Best Paper Awards. Her research covers diverse areas, including investor’s behaviour, capital market dynamics and inequality. As an Associate of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and a member of various academic boards, Dr. Asad has been instrumental in curriculum design, quality assurance, and thesis supervision. Recognised for her dedication, she has received several awards.
Dr. Asad’s teaching portfolio spans undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, encompassing subjects like Econometrics, Financial Economics, and Development Economics. She has undertaken notable research projects, such as exploring stock market dynamics, fintech adoption in Islamic finance, and the impact of economic growth on environmental degradation in South Asia.
