Seminar on Iqbal ka paigham-nojawanon kay nam

The Faculty of Life Sciences organized a Seminar on "Iqbal ka Paigam-Nojawanon kay Nam" in the Khorana Hall, Institute of Chemistry on 17th December, 2019 in collaboration with Chairperson, Iqbal Chair, Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen, Oriental College, PU.
The Program started with the Recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat e Rasool (SAW). Prof. Dr. Firdaus-e-Bareen, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, in her address emphasized the youngsters that they should study the poetry and ideology of Iqbal.  Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen summarized Iqbal’s theory of Khudi. She emphasized on the young generation to understand Iqbal’s message in the true letter and spirit. She described that Iqbal had high hopes from his youth and every youngster is the ‘Javed’ of Iqbal. She explained the hidden message for youth by Iqbal in his poem in Bal-e-Jibril entitled ‘Javed kay nam’.

خدا اگر دل فطرت  دے تچھ کو
سکوت لالہ و گل سے کلام پیدا کر

ﻣﺮﮮ ﺛﻤﺮ ﺳﮯ ﻣﺌﮯ ﻻﻟﮧ ﻓﺎﻡ ﭘﯿﺪﺍ ﮐﺮ
ﻣِﺮﺍ ﻃﺮﯾﻖ ﺍﻣﯿﺮﯼ ﻧﮩﯿﮟ ﻓﻘﯿﺮﯼ ﮨﮯ

The painter of Iqbal, Mr. Aslam Kamal was the Chief Guest and Speaker at the occasion who gave an inspiring lecture. He said that poetry of Iqbal has spiritual power and reflects the message of Holy Quran. Iqbal was the only poet in history whose poetry played an important role in the foundation of a separate Nation. He described the relation among Islam, Science and the Poetry of Iqbal. He also showed his piece of art entitled ‘India’s moodi’. A large number of faculty members and students from the Faculty of Life Sciences attended the Seminar. Mr. Safdar Ali Qazmi presented verses of Iqbal from Shikwa and Jawab e Shikwa in his beautiful voice. At the end,  Souvenirs were presented to Prof. Baseera Ambreen and Mr. Aslam Kamal by the Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Dr. Firdaus-e-Bareen and Gift of Books from Chair Iqbal Studies, Prof. Baseera Ambreen to Prof. Dr. Firdaus-e-Bareen, Mr. Aslam Kamal and  Mr. Safdar Ali Kazmi. Lastly, a walk was held from Institute of Chemistry to the Department of Botany in the University premesis to highlight the Kashmir cause where all the faculty members, guests and students participated in favor of Kashmir issue to be resolved according to the desires of Kashmiris.
