LAHORE: (Friday, December 20, 2019): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad has inaugurated new building of Directorate of Sports at New Campus here on Friday. Sports Committee Chairman Prof Dr Taqi Zahid Butt, PU Academic Staff Association President Prof Dr Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry, Secretary Javed Sami, Acting Director Sports Tahira Saleem, administrative officers and staff were present on the occasion. Addressing the ceremony, Prof Niaz Ahmad said that PU administration had taken several initiatives to promote sports and provide a platform to PU students where they could polish their talent. He said that sports were necessary for a healthy mind and healthy body. Ms Tahira Saleem thanked the VC for extending full support to the department for promotion of sports activities among students.
