Dr. Farooqi worked as a Research Associate in The City University of New York, USA from January 2009 to March 2010 during his PhD studies, Honorary Research Fellow/postdoc in Department of Chemistry, University of Liverpool, UK from 01-05-2018 to 06-10-2018 and visiting staff member at Department of Chemical Engineering, Loughborough University, UK. Dr. Farooqi joined the School of Chemistry as lecturer on contract in March 2008 and was selected as permanent lecturer in April 2013. He was promoted as an Assistant Professor in June 2013.  He was selected as an Associate Professor in 25-08-2020 and is currently working in the same cadre. He has published 180 journal articles in the field of chemical sciences. Dr. Farooqi has served as the Guest Editor of Special Issue (Recent Advances in Microgels/Nanogels) of journal “Gels”. Due to his significant research contribution in the chemical sciences, Dr. Farooqi is named in the World’s top 2% highly cited researchers list published by Elsevier BV in 2021-2025. He is author several books and book chapters. He has won various prestigious awards in the field of chemical sciences including Dr. M. Raziuddin Siddiqui prize 2021 in Chemistry for scientists under 40 in recognition of outstanding work in the subject awarded by the Council of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS), Research Productivity Award by Pakistan Council for Science and Technology and Highest Impact Factor Award by The Chemical Society of Pakistan for research publications in 2018. Dr. Farooqi is a member of ACS, RSC and Chemical Society of Pakistan. Dr. Farooqi is Fellow of Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS), Loughborough University. He has been a reviewer of various international Journals.
