I was born in Lahore in 1972. I did my Masters in Statistics from the University of the Punjab and M.Phil from the Government College Lahore. I obtained my Ph.D from the University of Nottingham, UK under the supervision of Prof. Andy Wood and Dr. Chris Brignell. My areas of specialization are Regression Analysis, Time Series Models and Spatio-Temporal Models. I mainly work in Penalized models and their applications.
In 1997, I was selected as a Lecturer in Statistics through Punjab Public Service Commission. Later in 2002, I joined University of the Punjab as a Lecturer in Statistics. Currently, I am working here as an Associate Professor of Statistics. I am HEC approved supervisor and have numerous publications in peer-reviewed national and international research journals.
I am member of Boards of Studies of University of the Punjab, Lahore College for Women University, GC University Lahore, Lahore School of Economics and GC University for Women, Sialkot. I have also worked as a technical expert with Punjab Bureau of Statistics, Crop Reporting Service Punjab and Pakistan Economic Research Institute.
I have expert skills in R-language, LaTeX and statistical packages (SPSS, Minitab etc.). My research interests are theoretical and applied aspects of Regression analysis, Bootstrap methods, Monte Carlo methods, Lasso-Type methods, Portmanteau tests and model selection.
My hobbies are book reading, playing cricket and gardening. I enjoy spending time in exploring the world of animals, birds and trees. Having a time-out with my family and friends is the bit, I like the most in my leisure time. |
