Institute of Polymer and Textile Engineering (IPTE) embarked upon a journey of unprecedented growth towards excellence since 2004. Institute holds the honor to be the most prestigious and the instigating institution for Polymer and Textile Engineering and Technology education in Pakistan. Holding a splendid track record of more than seventeen years of education, training and research in the field, the institute is working as the flagship Institute of Polymer and Textile Engineering in the country. By the fiscal support of Higher Education Commission Pakistan, various funded research projects and logistical and administrative push of University of the Punjab, adroitness is now established successfully within the Faculty of Chemicals and Materials Engineering. Funded research and establishment projects raised independent infrastructure with state-of-the-art laboratories for polymer, textile & allied material synthesis, processing and characterization using high grade instruments under one roof. Distinctive characteristics of the Institute include basic and applied research that integrates every step from theoretical conception to concept evaluation through actual synthetic research, and active opinion exchange and joint research among researchers in different research fields. These research portfolios initiated various projects of novel polymer synthesis used for production of commonly used domestic materials to high grade products like materials for strategic and medical applications, in collaboration with various universities, R&D;organizations, and industries. At present, in proximity with HEC, the Institute of Polymer and Textile Engineering is at the forefront of expanding scientific knowledge through research and development. The Institute is engaged in creating high impact national and international research and publications in the field of polymer, textile and material science and engineering. The teaching staff at the Institute is highly qualified, motivated, competent, and dedicated with superb professional experience to develop and groom the best scientists and engineers for industry and academia. Our team is leaving no stone unturned for promoting quality education and productive research which is beneficial for the university and for the technical, economic, and professional growth of the country at large. M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs in Polymer Technology started in 2011 and 2014 respectively are regular features of the institute. The degrees offered by the institute are recognized and accredited by Higher Education Commission, Pakistan and honored and accepted at the International Institutes and professional bodies all over the World. The Institute is on its way to offer B.Sc. Engg. and specialized M.Sc. Engg., M. Phil., short courses, diplomas, and Ph.D. Engg.
