May 12, 2025 — Prof. Dr. Abdul Qayyum Rao, Professor at the University of the Punjab’s Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology, has been selected for the HEC Best Researcher Award 2024 in the Life Sciences category.
Dr. Rao, Head of the Plant Biotechnology Section at Punjab University CEMB, is known for his contributions to crop improvement and agricultural biotechnology. His accolades include the InWent Fellowship (2005–06), Humboldt Fellowship (2016–18), ICRA Young Researcher Award (2017), ZKS-Gold Medal by PAS (2022), SATHA Award (2018), and multiple Innovation Awards.
