INTRODUCTION
Associate Degree Program for Affiliated Colleges
In pursuance of the HEC Undergraduate Policy, University of the Punjab through its affiliated college will offer Associate Degree Program (Semester System) to the students who have passed intermediate examination. This will be offered to the Academic Sessions w.e.f 2022-2024 starting in Oct-Nov 2022 and onwards.
Associate Degree in Science/Arts (B.A. / B.Sc.) Annual System Part-I / Part-II, is hereby replaced with Associate Degree in Science/Arts (2-years) Semester System Programs.
The Associate Degree in Science / Arts under Semester System shall consist of 2 years / 4 semesters. There shall be two types of Associate Degrees both in Arts & Science:
- Associate Degree Program with double major
[Two (2) Major and One (1) Minor Course] - Associate Degree Program (Subject Specific)
I. Associate Degree Program [Two (2) Major and One (1) Minor Course]: The degree shall consist of minimum 20 courses having minimum 60 Credit Hours. The breakup / details of courses / credit hours is as follows:
Compulsory Courses: (1+1+3+2=7 Courses – 21 Credit Hours)
General Education Courses: (2+2+2=6 Courses – 18 Credit Hours) 2 courses to be chosen from following domains, one from each groups:
Major & Minor Courses: (3+3+1=7 Courses – 21 Credit Hours) Students will be required to choose 2 Major and 1 Minor Subject/s from a wide range of subjects a student shall be required to:

II. Associate Degree Program [Subject Specific]: The degree shall consist of minimum 20 courses having minimum 60 Credit Hours. The breakup / details of courses / credit hours is as follows:
Compulsory Courses: (1+1+3+2=7 Courses – 21 Credit Hours)
General Education Courses: (2+2+2=6 Courses – 18 Credit Hours) 2 courses to be chosen from following domains, one from each groups:
Subject Specific: (7 Courses – 21 Credit Hours) The student will select one Subject and will study 7 courses of the selected subject. The course selected can not be opted as General Education Course
