Dress and Cultural show highlight colours of Pakistan
LAHORE: (Friday, 24 April, 2015): Highlighting the rich culture and traditions of Pakistan, Dress and Cultural Show was held at the Punjab University (PU) Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) here on Friday.
Students wore colourful Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi, Pashtoon and Tribal traditional dresses, presenting different regional aspects of Pakistan and sang national songs. The event was part of the Annual Sports Gala 2015.
For the girls' best dress, Balochi secured the first position, Rajistani second, Punjabi third and Dulhan group secured the fourth position. In the boys' best dress category, Punajbi secured the first position, Pashtoon second, Qaidoo group third and Pak-Arab Dosti group secured the fourth position.
On the occasion, ICS Incharge Director Dr Noshina Saleem said that students beautifully presented the culture of Pakistan through their colourful dress. She said that she was very happy to see the enthusiasm of students and the way they participated in the annual event.
The day started with the final of the cricket tournament, in which ICS Replicans won the final. During the event, Shabbir Sarwar, Aamir Mehmood Bajwa, Seemab Far Bukhari, Affira Hamid; Sports Committee members Shahbaz Ishaq, Muhammad Iqbal and Waqas Shehzada and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
The Sports Gala aims to highlight the abilities of students. The event will include different sporting events, including cricket tournament, football tournament, badminton, table tennis, chess and other indoor and outdoor sporting events.
