Department of Commerce at PUJC is working with great enthusiasm to achieve the objectives of the institution. The department is working to pursue the following vision, mission and objectives:
Vision:
To be the center of studies in Commerce and Management that will enhance and sustain a healthy economy.
Mission:
By acquiring and propagating world-class education, we strive to build an institution of learning where the top talent is attracted, groomed and developed to take leadership position in the world. A culture of excellence and continuous improvement is our hallmark. Bringing Pakistan on the Educational Map of the world.
Goals:
To achieve and maintain a level of quality education which enhances the department's reputation in the educational sector.
To design and develop the curriculum to enhance the understanding of commerce and enable learners to apply gained knowledge and skills in business environment
To prepare or equip learners for professional roles and know-how of operating successfully in an ever-changing business environment
To develop aptitude of learners to pursue higher education in the field of commerce for advanced knowledge and professional gains and remain in-touch with the latest advancements

Department of Commerce has in fact its roots in the Hailey College of Commerce at Lahore which was established on 4th March 1927 after the name of the then Governor of Punjab and the Chancellor of the University, Sir Malcolm Hailey. Sir, Ganga Ram donated the "Nabha House" and the old hostel building for the establishment of the College in 1927.
