Vision:
•	“We seek to provide the most efficient, cost effective and relevant education/training in the areas of Total Quality Management (TQM) & Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) to satisfy the requirements of the industrial, commercial/business, construction, service and public sectors in the country”.
Mission:
The IQTM has three fold education mission:-
•	The teaching mission is to provide high quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of IEM & TQM.
•	The research mission is to advance knowledge in the area of Industrial Engineering & Total Quality Management to strengthen and support manufacturing and service sectors.
•	The service mission is to participate in the faculty governance, in the broader community of the engineering profession, and in the mission of the university.
Quality Policy:
•	“Institute of Quality and Technology Management, University of the Punjab, is committed to provide efficient and cost effective education/training in Industrial Engineering & Total Quality Management for industrial and services sectors.
•	We are dedicated to provide trained professional who shall be instrumental in a continual quality improvement in industrial and services sectors of Pakistan.
•	We shall achieve our aims and goals by fulfilling our quality objectives, training of our faculty members and assuring a continual quality improvement in our working system.”
Objectives:
•	To train professionals of various areas in the field of TQM & Industrial Engineering & Management.
•	To meet the specific needs of Industrial/Commercial/Business, Services and Public sector organizations.
•	To ensure the arrangements for standardization, testing and certification of national products.
•	To give a quality orientation to the education, training and human resource development activity in the country.

With the upcoming challenges of globalization and free market, countries that did not place an emphasis on the quality awareness and culture, will not be able to earn its share in the international market. Countries that were once profitable stable markets for products are now competitors due to globalization. Industry cannot relax but must continuously strive to improve its competitive edge. There is no doubt that international standards on quality management have revolutionized the thinking on quality.
