To become a leading centre with the mission of driving innovation, research and development within the energy, environmental and allied sectors by fostering sustainable solutions, advancing local industrial capabilities, and empowering human resources through impact research and functional training.
The Energy Engineering Research and Development Centre (EERDC) is a newly established hub dedicated to driving innovation and addressing critical challenges in the energy, electrical, environmental, and allied sectors. With a mission to advance local industrial capabilities and empower human resources through impactful research and functional training, the centre aims to be a leader in applied research and development. EERDC delivers expert consultancy in energy conservation, clean fuel operations, environmental sustainability, and process optimization while providing practical solutions to industrial challenges through feasibility studies and field trials. It also supports the local design and manufacturing of relevant equipment and offers comprehensive training for industry and academia. Additionally, the centre actively liaises with national and international bodies to secure research and development funding, offering testing and analysis services for diverse stakeholders.
EERDC is collaboratively leading a research and development project, valued at Rs. 31.674 million, with a sub-award share of Rs. 13.596 million. Furthermore, a project worth Rs. 1.173 million with local industry, is also ongoing. The centre apart from existing national and international collaborations is also in the process of establishing a joint research collaboration agreement with the Wuhan Institute of Technology, PR China.
