LAHORE: (Tuesday, March 7, 2023): Punjab University Faculty of Islamic Studies has organized the launching ceremony of “Seerat Encyclopedia” at Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre’s Auditorium. On this occasion, PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Religious Scholar Dr Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Samiha Raheel Qazi, Former Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Lt. Gen. (r) Tauqeer Zia, Mufti Muhammad Zahid, Hafiz Masood Alam, Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies Prof Dr Hamad Lakhvi, faculty members and a large number of students were present. In his address, Dr Niaz Ahmad said that Allah Pak is the owner of the universe who sent Prophets for our guidance. He said that research was needed to know the causes of the problems faced by the Muslim Ummah. He said that one should not think of oneself as a Muslim by having names after great Muslim personalities but to be a true Muslim can be fulfilled only by following their good deeds. He said that faith without action was incomplete for which Quran and Sunnah were the only sources. Dr Raghib Naeemi, while presenting a critical review of the book, hoped that this book would help in promoting the unity of the Ummah instead of a particular school of thought. Samiya Raheel Qazi said that on the occasion of International Women's Day in this month, women should also come forward to work on the biography of Seerat-e-Tayyaba. Lt Gen (r) Tauqeer Zia said that we should always remember our death. He said that the success of this world and the hereafter could only be achieved by following the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH). He said that we should be proud of ourselves as a Muslim. Mufti Muhammad Zahid paid tribute to Prof Qayyum (late) for presenting the outline and idea for the best book. He said that the writer's writing in simple language and beautiful style will definitely benefit the people seeking knowledge and wisdom. Hafiz Masood Alam said that many books could be written on every aspect of the life of the Prophet (PBUH). He said that in this book, the author has discussed most of the aspects of the life of the Prophet (PBUH). Dr. Hammad Lakhvi, describing the features of the book, said that this book consisted of eleven volumes which the researchers had introduced after fourteen years of hard work.
