LAHORE: (Saturday, March 5, 2022): Punjab University Officers Welfare Association (PUOWA) organized sports festival at admin block ground in which the team of Controller Kings of University Officers defeated IT United Cricket team in the final. Cricket matches were played between four teams consisting of officers from different departments at the Sports Festival in which Registrar Qalandar, IT United, Old Campus Zalmi and Controller Kings competed. Due to wonderful performance Haji Waris of Controller Kings was declared Man of the match. In the tug of war, Old Campus Zalmi and IT United combined team defeated Controller Kings, while Mr Ehsan Ullah of Controller's Office and Malik Shehzad emerged victorious in U-60 and U-50 races respectively. Talking on the occasion, President PUOWA Jalil Tariq said that university officers work hard day and night and the purpose of organizing sports activities was to provide entertainment opportunities for them. Earlier, PU Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar inaugurated the festival. The ceremony was attended by Registrar Muhammad Rauf Nawaz and other officials.
