Dr. Muhammad Mohsin is working as the Professor of Statistics in the College of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan since June 27, 2022. He has been working as the Chairman and the Head of the department of Statistics at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. His areas of interest are Distribution theory, Mathematical statistics, Statistical modeling, Bayesian Inference, Meta-analysis and Statistical Inference. He has done his Postdoc from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland in 2016. He completed his PhD from Alpen-Adria University, Klagenfurt, Austria in 2013. He won different awards such as Ernst Mach-Nachbetreuungsstipendium (EZA) fellowship from OEAD, Austria in 2018, Swiss Excellent Scholarship from the Swiss Government in 2015, Overseas Scholarship for Doctoral Studies from HEC in 2009 etc. He completed an NRPU project titled “"Modeling and forecasting of drought duration and interarrival time" awarded by HEC. He has been a member of HEC Curriculum Development Committee for BS, MS and PhD courses as well. There are more than 40 national and international research publications on his credit. He is also serving as a reviewer of several national and international statistics journals as well.
