Requirements:
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (TTS) IN EUKARYOTIC MOLECULAR GENETICS –
who has an authoritative knowledge of gene structure and function and has significantly contributed to the solution of a biological problem using the techniques of molecular genetics. The successful applicant should be a ‘hands on’ experimentalist who:
1. Can initiate his/her personal research, soon after appointment, using the facilities already available in SBS.
2. Can prepare SBS students for international GRE in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Cell Biology.
3. Can organize laboratory courses in molecular biology
4. Has the ability to run DNA sequencing service.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (TTS) IN CHEMICAL ENZYMOLOGY AND METABOLISM: –
candidate should have a good working knowledge of HPLC, FPLC and of modern techniques involving chemical characterization, kinetic analysis and genetic engineering of proteins and has made research contributions using some of these techniques The successful candidate will be a ‘hands on’ experimentalist who, in addition:
1. Can initiate his/her personal research, soon after appointment, using the facilities available in SBS.
2. Can organize laboratory courses in enzymology, separation methods, protein expression and purification.
3. Can prepare SBS students for international GRE in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Cell Biology.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (TTS)/SENIOR EXPERIMENTAL OFFICER (BPS-19 OR CONTRACT) IN BIOLOGICAL MASS SPECTROMETRY
Candidate should have good working knowledge of Biological Mass Spectrometry, Spectroscopic Techniques, Separation Methods in Protein Chemistry and Enzymology. The successful candidate will be a ‘hands on’ experimentalist, engaged in laboratory research, on problems approved by the Director General, who sets high standard of experimental work to be copied by PhD students. In addition he/she can teach topics in protein chemistry, enzyme kinetics and proteomics to students preparing for international GRE in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Cell Biology.
