The Ph.D. program has been launched in the year 2001. This is a structured program involving research and course work.
In total 72 credit hours are required to complete the PhD program, comprising 24 credits of course work and 48 credits of research/dissertation. The course work will consist of core and elective courses. The selection of elective courses will depend upon the student’s area of doctoral research.

Eligibility:  
For admission into the PhD minimum CGPA 3.0  (out of 4.0 in the Semester System) or First Division (in the Annual System) in MPhil/M.S/Equivalent is required.
• No third division in the whole career.
• MS/MPhil/equivalent without thesis shall complete deficiency of 06 credit hours research thesis.
• Qualifying marks in the admission test conducted by the University shall be 60%.
• Qualifying marks in the interview shall be 50%.

Qualification Criteria
 
MPhil/MS in Sociology, Anthropology, Gender Studies, Population Sciences/Demography, Criminology & Security Studies.
