Eligibility criteria for both Open merit and Reserved1 Seats
The Admission is open for those candidates who:-
1.
Have passed FA/F.Sc./ 'A' Level or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks.
2.
Have passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) conducted by HEC with 50% passing marks and with a validity date for admission.
3.
Must have appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by Punjab University.
4.
Must NOT be more than 24 years of age.
The candidates must provide equivalence/verification of their academic documents from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) at the time of admission.
Admission Criteria/ Merit Formula:
75% weightage of [1/4 of marksobtained in
Matric/O-Level or equivalent qualification + Total marks
obtained in F.A./F.Sc./A-Level or equivalent
qualification]+25% weightage of the entry test conducted by
the Punjab University + additional marks* (if any).
*Additional Marks:
1.
20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran
2.
25 marks for each of the following subjects studied as elective subject(s) in FA/F.Sc./A-Level or equivalent qualification upto a maximum of two subjects from the list below:
(a) Civics/Political Science (b) Philosophy (c) English Literature (d) Sociology (e) Law (f) Economics
1Reserved Seats for Kins of Judges/Lawyers
Son/Daughter/Nephew/Niece of serving judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and High Courts of Pakistan (Preferably of Lahore High Court, Lahore). Two seats
(1% only)
Son/Daughter/Nephew/Niece of judicial officers of Subordinate Judiciary of Punjab), first priority will be given to the kins of serving Judges and officers. Two seats
(1% only)
Children/Spouse/real brothers or sisters (in this order of priority) of lawyers with at least 10 years lower court standing. Five seats
(1% only)
Other Categories As per Punjab University policy.
2Order of Preference in Reserved Seats of Judges:
1.
First preference for admission will be given to the kins of sitting judges of superior courts, according to the criteria already laid down in the Admission Regulations of Punjab University.
2.
If any of the seat(s) remains unfilled from the above priority, second preference for admission will be given to the kins of retired judges of superior courts on the basis of the overall merit of the candidates.
3.
Priority to the kins of superior court judges will be given over the kins of retired judges irrespective of the fact whether the former have higher or lower merit.
4.
If any of the seat(s) still remain unfilled, the vacant seats(s) will go to the open merit to be filled from the General Merit List.

For reserved seats on kinship basis, only those applications shall be entertained for admission which are accompanied by a kinship certificate duly issued by the competent authority i.e., (i) in case of judges/judicial officers, by the Registrar of the respective superior court (ii) in case of lawyers, by the Secretary of respective Provincial Bar Council and (iii) in case of case of Punjab University teachers/employees, by the Registrar, University of the Punjab, Lahore.
N.B: In case of any controversy, the matter shall be referred to the Chairman, Admission Committee of Punjab University whose decision shall be final.
