I have started my professional carrier in CEMB University of the Punjab as research officer (BPS-16) in 2005, after completing my Master degree (MSc) in computer science with specialization in telecommunication networks. In 2009 I did a research tour of South Korea at Korean Bioinformatics Center (KoBIC) for one year. After my return I was appointed as Research Officer cum Lecturer in 2010 (PBS-18) the post was upgraded and now I am working as research officer cum lecturer (BPS-18). In CEMB I am working in Bioinformatics group as Network Administrator and trouble-shooter regarding network connectivity issues. I also maintain and deploy CEMB’s Cluster Server Platform and make available for high computation requirement software. I have also developed and multi-threaded (accelerated) automated downloader for large biological databases. I also teach students introductory to intermediate level programming practices by use of Perl™ programming language as a part of Bioinformatics course offered to MPhil students.
Previously I have done research with open source software compatibility and Biological Pipe Lines for assistive approach to computational biology.
In 2012 I completed my MPhil in Molecular Biology (with focus on Bioinformatics) and have started my Ph.D in 2013. I have completed the study courses and submitted my synopsis as well.
I have trained many trainees from different universities of Pakistan. I also participate as resource person in different workshops held in CEMB.
