Annual dinner at ICET held LAHORE : (Saturday, May 28, 2011): Punjab University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (ICET) arranged annual dinner and farewell ceremony 2011 at the Institute. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran was the chief guest while acting Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology Prof Dr M Ehsan Malik, Director Institute Prof Dr Syed Zahoor-ul-Hassan Rizvi, Prof Dr Javaid Ahmad, Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Prof Dr Shaukat Ali, senior faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. The Vice-Chancellor also inaugurated the Examination Centre at the Institute and announced the result of BSc Chemical Engineering Session 2006-10, first time prepared in the history of PU on Campus Management Solution software, and got transcript of first position holder student Affan Mahmood and distributed certificates among the distinguishing students. The students also presented various skits on the occasion. Addressing the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran congratulated the graduating students and advised them to work hard with strong commitment and devotion to get success in their practical lives. He said they had a bright future and industries and refineries really needed them. He asked them to develop learning habits in them, respect each other and try to correct their mistakes. He said there was dire need to increase research budget for enhancing the number of PhD teachers in the varsity. He said PU would be ranked amongst top 200 varsities of the world, if the policies of present administration were continued in coming years. Earlier, Director Institute Dr Zahoor-ul-Hassan Rizvi paid rich tributes to the practical efforts of VC Dr Mujahid Kamran in launching CMS software and said this was a complete transparent system. He asked the students to utilize their utmost skills in playing crucial role in the country's development. He said being chemical engineers, you had a greater role in the society and you should play you active role in bringing the industry out of present crises.
