Institute of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (MMG) organized two days sports gala on 10-11th and March 2022. The event started with Qirat and Naat. Then the students sang the National Anthem of Pakistan with full enthusiasm and passion. The Director of MMG, Prof. Dr. Anjum Naseem Sabri declared the opening the event and highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities. Addressing to the opening ceremony Prof. Dr. Shahida Hussain (Distinguished National Professsor) motivated the students to participate wholeheartedly in sports, because it helps to keep the minds fresh and is also one of the best ways to learn different aspects of life by playing with zealous people. Sports also help students to do their tasks more effectively she added. The students assembled in groups each class was representing a specific color. The stduents were holding flags of different colors which made MMG’s atmosphere full of colors and positive vibes. Dr. Imran Sajid (Associate Professor), organizer of the event opening ceremony and advisor of the stduents organizing committee organized all the classes to start march-past. The students did march past in their smester groups while holding flags and balloons. A unique environment was seen in MMG, full of discipline, confidence, friendliness, and courage. During the sports days, different matches were played which were enjoyed by all teachers and students. In these two days mega event, both indoor and outdoor games were played by the students like, tug of war, badminton, table tennis, ludo, carom board, cricket, football, relay races, three legs races, sack race, book race, and musical chair. Students also participated in the event by arranging stalls of different foods. Faculty members, staff members, and students participated in the event with great enthusiasm.
