Indian CM actually unveiled Indian democracy, Hindutva: PU VC

LAHORE: (Thursday, December 18, 2025): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali has said that Chief Minister Nitesh Kumar has, in fact, unveiled not the girl’s face but India’s so-called democracy and Hindutva ideology. He was talking to media while leading a protest demonstration organized by PU Academic Staff Association and Directorate of Students Affairs against Indian Chief Minister Nitesh Kumar’s internationally condemned act of pulling a woman’s hijab and against Indian extremism and Hindutva ideology. On this occasion, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, President Academic Staff Association Dr Amjad Magsi, Director General Rehan Sadiq, Director Students Affairs Dr Shahzeb Khan, faculty members, and a large number of students were present. In his address, Dr Ali strongly condemned this incident and the ideology of Hindutva. He said that it is the foremost responsibility of universities to play their role in exposing the mindset behind such incidents. He further stated that every society has an understanding of fundamental human rights and the sanctity of privacy and modesty. He said that the Chief Minister of Bihar is well aware of South Asian culture, yet such a heinous act was committed by an educated and elected Indian chief minister. He said that no religion or culture, except Hindutva, allows such actions. He emphasized that the faculty members, employees, and students of PU strongly condemn this ideology and mindset. He also stated that, unlike India, minorities are safe in Pakistan. Dr Amjad Magsi said that the world has now seen through the facade of democracy that India has been wearing. He added that all faculty members of Punjab University condemn this action by a BJP leader and urged international human rights organizations to take notice of this incident. Dr Shahzeb Khan urged the students to make videos on social media and expose India’s extremist face.
