Dr Aisha Nazir started serving her Alma Mater i.e. Institute of Botany (IoB), University of the Punjab Lahore as early as in 2008, during her student life when she got selected as Research Associate in HEC Funded Research Project No.1032 (worth 4.8 Million PKR during 2008-2011) and as Laboratory Instructor of Water Pollution Practicals. She worked as Teaching Assistant (TA) in College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES), University of the Punjab from June 05, 2015 to Nov 29, 2015; later as Assistant Professor (BPS-19 on contract) in IoB from Nov 30th, 2015 to June 5th, 2018 and finally as Assistant Professor (TTS-19) since May 15, 2019 till date. During her services in CEES and IoB, Dr Aisha Nazir contributed to multiple academic and research achievements of the University of the Punjab Lahore.
Dr Aisha Nazir has supervised/co-supervised multiple research students of PhD, MS/MPhil, MSc and BS classes both in CEES and IoB. She has over 12 research articles in her credit that are published in Peer Review Journals/Conference Proceedings. She has won multiple Research Innovation Awards for developing Technologies/Technology Designs including prestigious Award of UNIDO’s GCIP (Global CleanTech Innovation Program). She had earned Merit Scholarship from IoB throughout her BS and MS degrees. For her PhD, she had been awarded with HEC Indigenous PhD Fellowship and HEC IRSIP scholarship for doing her advanced PhD research work in Cornell University, NY USA. She has completed 4 Research Project as Principal Investigator. She has authored and coauthored research articles that have been presented as Oral and Poster Presentation in International/National Conferences/Symposia/Training Wrokshops/Seminars. She has attended numerous Professional Training Workshops for her capacity building at International and National level. As Secretary, she has organized 01 International Conference and 02 Pre-Conference Workshops at National level. As Focal Person, she signed the pioneer and so far the only MoU of IoB with some Industrial Partner/Collaborator i.e. with WASA Faisalabad and WASA Lahore for execution of research at applied scale in the field of phytotechnologies for wastewater treatment. For more than a decade, she has been contributing towards bioremediation-based management of tannery solid waste, effluent and sludge of combined effluent treatment plant of KTWMA, Kasur. Her field of specialization is ‘Applied Phytotechnologies for Environmental Sanitation’. |
