Asma Zulfiqar earned her PHD from University of the Punjab Lahore/ University of Massachusetts Amherst USA in plant sciences in 2012. Her laboratory has conducted pioneering Research on the metabolism of chromium detoxification in Plants using a combination of genomics, plant molecular biology and physiology approaches. She also worked as a postdoctoral scholar at University of Southampton UK. She is interested in elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying heavy metal tolerance in Arabidopsis and Brassica juncea spp. Her current research activities include plant genomics, Cellular, molecular biology and plant biotechnology. She is active in teaching plant molecular biology, physiology and biotechnology at undergraduate and postgraduate level. |
