I have been working as an Associate Professor since 2018 and Chairperson of the Department of Early Childhood Education since February, 2020, at the Faculty of Education, University of the Punjab, Lahore Pakistan. I joined the University in 1996. I have done my M. A in Secondary Education from Punjab University, Lahore, M A in Educational Technology from the University of Bath, UK and my PhD in Education from the Monash University ,Melbourne, Australia. I have various research awards to my credit including Australian Development Scholarship by Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) for PhD, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, 2008-2012 and Commonwealth Scholarship for postgraduate study (MA), University of Bath UK, 1999-2000. I have been teaching courses of Quantitative Research, Student Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation Systems, Large Scale Assessment, Educational Administration and Instructional Methodologies at postgraduate level since 1996. My research interests include teacher education, learning and teaching in schools and in higher education, motivation as a prerequisite for and an outcome of education, self-regulation in the context of learning and achievement, students learning experiences in higher education, assessment and reporting of student learning, and gender differences in learning, achievement, life choices and career plans of students. I have conducted various research projects at provincial and national level as a team member with organizations like UNESCO, ODA, UK, DfID and ADB. I have been publishing my research in internationally leading journals (e.g., Higher Education Research and Development, International Journal of Gender Science and Technology) .I am also on the review panel of several local and international journals. I have presented my research at several international conferences such as HERDSA Conference in Australia, Canada International Conference on Education, and Gender and STEM Conference in England, UK. |
