Engr. Dr. Danish Arif is an accomplished Assistant Professor in the  Institute of Electrical, Electronics & Computer Engineering,  University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, with around 15 years of experience in academia and industry. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, along with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Total Quality Management from the University of the Punjab. His expertise spans image processing, AI, IoT, Automation and embedded systems.
He holds several key positions. He serves as the Program In-Charge for the B.Sc. Electrical Engineering program, leads curriculum development, and ensures alignment with industry standards. He is also the Industrial Linkages Head, fostering partnerships with industry to facilitate internships and job placements for students. He serves as the Convener of both the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at IEECE and the Outcome Based Education (OBE) System, and he leads the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) accreditation process for his department. Additionally, he is the focal person for the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC).
His teaching portfolio includes courses such as Programming Fundamentals, Object Oriented Programming, Computer Hardware Engineering, Embedded Systems, Microprocessors, Instrumentation & Measurement,  Image Processing, and Sensors & Actuators. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and Biomedical Engineering, with numerous publications in reputable journals and conferences. He has supervised more than 50 undergraduate and postgraduate research titles and led NAVTTC programs focused on AI, Automation, and Energy Efficiency.
In addition to his work in Pakistan, he has served as an Associate Professor at Jiangxi University of Science & Technology, China, and gained industry experience at the Ministry of Defence, Mobilink, and SNGPL. A dedicated educator and researcher, he continues to contribute significantly to AI and electrical engineering through his academic leadership, research, and industry collaborations.
